Confidential Online English & Arabic

You are welcome here

My practice is a specialist space for those who may have felt unseen or unheard elsewhere. Whatever your background, faith, or walk of life — you belong here.

👩

Women

Women of all backgrounds, cultures, and faiths seeking support with sexual health, relationships, identity, or emotional wellbeing.

💑

Couples

Partners finding their way through relationship difficulties — whether that is emotional distance, communication breakdown, or rebuilding trust and closeness.

A practice built on purpose

🌸

For the Women I Work With

My deepest hope is that every woman leaves therapy feeling more at home in herself — reclaiming her body, reconnecting to it, and learning to understand what it is communicating.

I want to be the space where a woman can arrive exactly as she is, and leave knowing herself a little more.

💞

For the Couples I Work With

I work with couples who are finding their way through relationship difficulties — whether that is a breakdown in communication, emotional distance, or the strain that external pressures can place on a partnership. Together, we work to rebuild understanding, closeness, and trust.

Because when two people find their way back to each other, that doesn't just change their lives — it shapes their children, their families, and the world those children will grow up to create.

Culturally sensitive, faith-aware practice
"I believe that every person deserves a space where they feel truly seen — without judgement, without shame."

My name is Maram, and I am a psychosexual and relationship therapist with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and Mental Health, and a proud member of COSRT — the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists. But beyond the qualifications, I am someone who genuinely cares — about the people who sit across from me, about the communities I serve, and about breaking down the silence that surrounds so many of the struggles my clients carry.

My Journey

I didn't find this work by chance. I chose it because I saw a gap — in my community, in the conversation, in the support available to women and couples who were suffering quietly in an area of life that so few therapists are trained to address. I wanted to change that.

Having lived across the Middle East and the UK, I have moved through different cultures, languages, and ways of understanding the world. That journey has made me who I am — deeply acculturated, genuinely curious about people, and committed to meeting every client exactly where they are, whatever their background, faith, or walk of life.

Before specialising, I worked with the Muslim community, supporting women through a range of mental health challenges. It was here that I learned something I have never forgotten — that you cannot separate a person's mental health from their culture, their faith, or their sense of belonging.

I then spent two years working within the NHS, before taking the step that felt most true to my values — setting up my own private practice, where I could offer the kind of care I had always believed people deserved.

What I Can Help With

Over more than six years in the mental health field, I have worked with women and couples across a wide range of deeply personal concerns.

For women

Low libido and concerns around desire, sexual pain conditions (including vaginismus and dyspareunia), difficulties with arousal or orgasm, sexual anxiety, body disconnection and reclaiming intimacy with yourself, intimacy after childbirth or illness, the impact of pornography use, survivors of sexual, emotional, or verbal abuse, body image difficulties, and psychosomatic symptoms — particularly where these are rooted in or worsened by relationship or psychosexual stress.

For couples

Communication breakdown, emotional distance, rebuilding trust and closeness after betrayal, the strain of external pressures on a partnership, navigating intercultural dynamics, and working through emotional or verbal abuse within the relationship — whether you are currently experiencing it or navigating its aftermath.

A note on abuse

I work with those experiencing current emotional or verbal abuse, as well as the aftermath of physical abuse. If you are currently in a physically abusive situation, I will always ensure you are gently guided to the right specialist support — you will never be turned away without care.

What Drives Me

My deepest hope for the women I work with is that they leave therapy feeling more at home in themselves — reclaiming their bodies, reconnecting to them, and learning to understand what they are communicating. I want to be the space where a woman can arrive exactly as she is, and leave knowing herself a little more.

For the couples I work with, I hold a firm belief that a loving, functioning relationship is one of the most powerful forces in the world.

An integrative, human-centred approach

I work integratively, drawing on attachment theory, person-centred principles, and evidence-based psychosexual approaches. I follow your lead — creating a space that is warm, unhurried, and completely free of judgement. Sessions are available in both English and Arabic.

Therapy for Women

A warm, confidential space to explore the most intimate parts of your life — without shame, without judgement, and without having to explain yourself before the work even begins.

A space to reclaim yourself

So many women carry their struggles in silence — particularly around their bodies, their sexuality, and their relationships.

My deepest hope for the women I work with is that they leave therapy feeling more at home in themselves — reclaiming their bodies, reconnecting to them, and learning to understand what they are communicating.

I offer sessions in both English and Arabic, and I bring a lived understanding of diverse cultural and faith contexts to every session.

Your journey, step by step

Every person's path is different. Here is how working together typically unfolds.

01

Free 20-Minute Consultation

We start with a no-obligation conversation to explore whether we're a good fit. There's no pressure — just a chance to talk and ask questions.

02

Assessment & Goal Setting

In our early sessions, we take time to understand your history, your concerns, and what you are hoping to work towards together.

03

Ongoing Therapy

Sessions are weekly or fortnightly, online. A typical individual journey is around 8 sessions, though this always depends on your needs and goals.

04

Exercises Between Sessions

For psychosexual work in particular, what happens between sessions matters just as much as the sessions themselves. I may suggest exercises or reflections — always evidence-based, always designed with your values and faith in mind.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to talk about sex straight away? +
Absolutely not. We go at your pace, always. Many clients spend the first few sessions simply telling their story and building a sense of safety. There is no pressure to discuss anything before you feel ready.
Is everything I share completely confidential? +
Yes. Everything shared in sessions is held in strict confidence. The only exceptions are if there is a serious risk to your safety or the safety of others — and even then, I would always aim to discuss this with you first wherever possible.
Are the exercises you give faith-friendly? +
Yes, and this is something I take seriously. In my practice, I consult with scholars to ensure that the exercises and reflections I suggest do not conflict with my clients' faith or spirituality. I use evidence-based approaches, and where needed I adapt them to be more aligned with Islamic values — without ever compromising the benefit or outcome for the client.
How long will therapy take? +
This varies from person to person and depends on the nature of what you are bringing to therapy. As a general guide, individual therapy typically spans around 8 sessions — though some clients benefit from fewer, and others from more. We review this together as we go, and you are always in control.
What if I don't do the exercises between sessions? +
For psychosexual therapy in particular, progress depends on both what happens in the session and what you practise outside of it. The challenges are not only mental — they are physical and relational too. I always offer exercises that feel manageable and appropriate, but the more you engage with them, the more you are likely to benefit.
What are the risks of therapy? +
Therapy can be deeply helpful, but it is also honest work. At times, exploring difficult experiences or feelings can bring up emotions that feel harder before they feel better. Progress is not always linear. I will support you through this, and we will always work at a pace that feels manageable for you.
I'm not Muslim — can I still come to you? +
Absolutely. I work with women of all backgrounds, beliefs, and walks of life. My cultural sensitivity is an asset to any client — it simply means I approach therapy with awareness and respect for the whole person, regardless of faith or background.

Therapy for Couples

Finding your way back to each other — through communication, trust, and a deeper understanding of what you both need.

Rebuilding connection

Every relationship goes through difficult chapters. Whether you are navigating conflict, distance, or a loss of closeness, coming to therapy together is an act of courage — and a powerful first step.

I work with couples who are finding their way through relationship difficulties — whether that is a breakdown in communication, emotional distance, or the strain that external pressures can place on a partnership. Together, we work to rebuild understanding, closeness, and trust.

I believe that a loving, functioning relationship is one of the most powerful forces in the world. When two people find their way back to each other, that doesn't just change their lives — it shapes their children, their families, and the world those children will grow up to create.

Areas of Support

🗣️

Communication Breakdown

When conversations feel impossible, circular, or have stopped altogether — finding a way to truly hear and be heard again.

🌊

Emotional Distance

Working through periods of disconnection, loneliness within the relationship, or feeling like you are living as strangers.

🤝

Rebuilding Trust

Supporting couples navigating betrayal — rebuilding closeness and trust, one step at a time.

⚖️

External Pressures

When work stress, family dynamics, financial strain, or life transitions place a heavy weight on your relationship.

🌍

Intercultural Dynamics

Navigating the unique challenges and richness that come with different cultural backgrounds within a partnership.

🛡️

Emotional & Verbal Abuse

Supporting couples working through patterns of emotional or verbal abuse — whether currently present or in its aftermath — in a safe and structured way.

Your journey, together

Couples therapy is a collaborative process. Here is how it typically unfolds.

01

Free 20-Minute Consultation

Either one or both of you can join the initial consultation. It's a chance to ask questions and see if working together feels right.

02

Individual & Joint Sessions

We typically begin with a joint session, and I may also meet with each of you individually early on. This gives everyone a space to share openly.

03

Ongoing Couples Therapy

Sessions are weekly or fortnightly, online. Couples work typically spans around 16 sessions, though this always depends on where you are and what you are working towards.

04

Practice Between Sessions

I may suggest exercises or reflections to try between sessions. These are always evidence-based, designed with your values in mind — and they genuinely make a difference to the progress you experience together.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my partner is reluctant to come? +
It's very common for one partner to be more ready than the other. You are welcome to reach out on your own first — I can share more about what couples therapy involves, which often helps ease concerns.
Is what I share in individual sessions kept private from my partner? +
The relationship is my client, not either individual within it. This means I cannot hold secrets that are significant to the relationship — for example, if one partner discloses an affair, ongoing gambling, or something else that directly affects why you are in therapy together, I am not able to keep that from the other partner. However, personal history or past experiences that do not affect your current relationship will be treated with full confidentiality. I will always be transparent with both of you about how this works before we begin.
How long will couples therapy take? +
Every couple is different. As a general guide, couples typically benefit from around 16 sessions — though some work through things more quickly and others take longer. We review progress together regularly, and you are always in control of the pace.
What are the risks and benefits of couples therapy? +
The benefits can be significant — improved communication, renewed closeness, and practical tools to navigate difficulty together. That said, therapy is honest work. At times, exploring difficult patterns can feel uncomfortable before it feels better. In some cases, therapy also helps couples come to a clearer, more peaceful conclusion if the relationship is not working. I will support you through whatever emerges.
Do we have to be in crisis to come to couples therapy? +
Not at all. Many couples come to therapy not because things have broken down, but because they want to invest in their relationship — to communicate better, deepen their connection, or work through something before it becomes a bigger issue.
Are the exercises faith-friendly? +
Yes. I consult with scholars to ensure that the exercises and reflections I suggest are compatible with my clients' faith and values. I use evidence-based approaches and adapt them where needed — without ever compromising the benefit or outcome for the couple.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which package is right for me? +
If you are coming as an individual woman, the individual therapy rates and packages apply. If you are attending as a couple, the couples rates apply. Not sure which package suits you? The free consultation is the perfect place to figure this out — we can talk through your goals and I can help you decide what makes most sense for your situation.
Do I qualify for a concession rate? +
Concession rates are available for students, retirees, those on benefits, or those on a low income. Places are limited and assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out via email or WhatsApp and we can have a confidential conversation about eligibility.
How do I pay? +
Payment can be made via Revolut or bank transfer — whichever is more convenient for you. For individual sessions, payment is made ahead of each session. For packages, payment is made in full in advance. Once we have agreed a session time or package, I will send you the relevant payment details. Sessions are confirmed upon receipt of payment.
What is your cancellation policy? +
I ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged in full, as that slot cannot usually be offered to another client at short notice. Packages can be transferred or rescheduled with 48 hours' notice but are non-refundable. I understand that life happens — if something urgent arises, please do get in touch and we can talk it through.
Can I switch from single sessions to a package? +
Yes, absolutely. If you begin with individual sessions and decide you'd like to move to a package, we can discuss this at any point. Packages offer better value and are a good option if you know you'd like to commit to a course of therapy.
How long will I need? +
Individual therapy typically spans around 8 sessions, and couples therapy around 16 — though this always depends on your unique situation and goals. Packages are a good starting point, and we can always review and extend if needed. You are in control throughout.
